~mix & ~limit parameters in smartlists
« on: December 17, 2004, 04:56:29 am »

I keep forgetting how to use the ~mix parameter and ~limit parameter.

Like for the mix parameter you can use:
~mix=1000,75%,{[Genre]=[Classic Rock]},25%,{[Genre]=[Alternative Rock]}

Isn't it possible to create a wizard for these kind of smartlists ?

Now it shows "advanced" in the smartlists, not very user friendly.

Or maybe create a default preset that explains how to use the ~mix parameter (for ~limit this has been done)

I second the idea for a wizard for these modifiers. They are both very cool features and, given the right interface, could be quite useful to the average user.

I find myself doing quick forum searches and hacking solutions for parameters like ~limit.

Is there an up-to-date, definitive list of smartlist parameters somewhere?

Did you try MC's Help?  (It isn't completely up to date for MC 11, but it's not bad.)

From MC11 Help:
Quote
~limit=Limit_Total_Keys,Limit_Per_Key,Key_Fields

eg All rock, all artists, and of those artists, play no more than 2 songs by any artist:

[genre]=[rock] ~limit=-1,2,[artist]

Note: -1 means Unlimited.

Thanks Marko. Maybe this post could be linked to or included in the FAQ Thread?
