MC freezing
« on: March 07, 2005, 04:32:23 am »

While analysing tracks, MC is freezing after changing in Theater Mode.
Only the Task-Manager can stop MC...

It May Be Graphic Related

In That Case It May Be Your Video Card If You Have One.

Sometimes Installing A New Video Driver Helps.

If You Do Not Have A Video Card And Your Video Is On The Mother Board, And Since Yours Seems To be Dated It May Take Longer. Normally That Type Of Card Does Not Have As Good Of A Processor.

Thats an interesting observation, my comp has similar specs. I find on analysing a large number of files MC would just randomly crash & dissapear. I replaced the memory with a reliable name brand like kingston, the problem is still there albeit less frequent. Have to admit 3D visualizations are no-go with the graphics card either. I think my graphics card  has the ability to increase memory, though i doubt this will magically enable 3D viz.

My workaround is to analyse batches of no more than 500 (1000 if i'm feeling lucky)  files at a time.

Thanks King,

i do have a video chip on board and yes, it seems to be dated.
My workaround will be not to start Track Analysing in Theater View.
