No "Update Library" in MC 11?
« on: March 06, 2005, 04:27:00 am »

I just installed MC 11 and I can no longer find the "update libary" function. Now, this has probably been discussed elsewhere in the forum, but my searches didn't turn anything up... so if anyoine could point me in the right direction, I'd like to know how to "Clean up"/update my libary with MC 11, since the button that was there in MC 9 and 10 is gone.... These are the old directions:

"The Update Library feature updates the library (database) to reflect any changes made to the files in the library or to the ID3 tags. To Update your Library, go to File > Library and select “Update Library”. Then choose from the options below.... Clean Up.... etc."

Thank you!

[Also, just as a side note: I had MC 11 running on my PC, and I "switched users" over to another XP user, so my roommate could log on and check her email. Then my roommate tried to open MC 11 (remember, MC was alsol running under my user profile at this point) and BOOM, the entire PC shut down. A major crash thanks to MC 11 and the buggy XP SP2. I'll make sure not to do that again. Only one instance of MC 11 at a time from now on .... although it seems strange.]

Otherwise, MC 11 is super swell...

Tools->Import Media

Use 'Advanced' and select the options you want.

Ahhhhhh .... I see. Very nice. I always use the MC Shell integration to import files  -- you know, I right click the folder or files and I choose MC-> Import. -- so I never had a need for the Tools-> Import Media option. Thus, I had no idea that MC had all these nifty database options in the advance mode of "Import Media" now. Very impressive. Thanks for pointing this out to me -- it'll be extremely useful in the future.
