Rip CD on Library Client, but not update library
« on: April 06, 2005, 06:09:49 am »

I would like to be able to Rip CD's on a MC11 library client PC. Currently this is not supported, due to the complexity of multiple clients trying to update a single server library.
However it would be nice to be able to rip the cd on the client PC, to my networked music directory, and just update the tags and not the server library, but us all the file/directory naming / format support and db lookup stuff.
The server could then worry about picking up the files in the maindirectory my monitoring it or manually scanning for changes later.

thx.

I don't think JRiver will/can change that unless they will someday introduce a new kind of server that allows editing in several ways on the client side.

For now, you can temporally switch to a local libary and rip to a shared network folder on the server.
