Tag info in taskbar?

Is this possible?   I remember this feature in musicmatch, which was one of my favorite features.  Would this be possible to have the artist/song be scrolled in a minimized taskbar as well?  I am not sure if you can do it already if so can someone step me though it?


I currently have MC11 registered, thanks!

Okay there's a number of options here.

First of, if you use Firefox as your browser you should have a look at the foxytunes plugin. It'll do it in your browser, but that's not really what your looking for.

There's an excellent plugin called PlayingNow. I believe it can be found in the plugin-section (next to MC Home on the top of the page.) It cost a couple of pounds. Three I think. It will pop up a small window every time the song change, or just stay constantly. You can customize it in nearly any given way you would like. There's an older, free version too. I think I may have it on my hard drive.

There's also a plug in that will write it to a file, and I'm sure one can somehow have the content of a file shown in the taskbar, with a 3rd party program.

On the easier side, If you minimize MC to the System Tray and hover your mouse over the small MC icon you get a tooltip with the artist and song name currently playing... but you surely knew that.

As Pank said, I'd also recommend Rhino's PlayingNow plug-in. It's really awesome and can be totally customizable. Mine is always "on" and shows the lyrics when hovering the mouse over the cover art. You can use it even to rate the currently paying song and/or the previous/next one.

hmmm, seems like a popular request.  Can I get an offical word from the dev team if they have it in their plans to include this as a standard feature without charging for a 3rd party plug in?
