Server/Client 2 Systems Question
« on: April 18, 2005, 07:17:34 pm »

I have a second computer out in the garage networked to my main pc.  Setting up the main computer as a server and the second computer as a client ("Search for Media servers") works fine. But what I really want to do is have the second computer play the same 'Playing Now' list as the main computer.

If I setup a "Playing Now" list on the main computer, and then connect as a client from the remote I can bring up the main computer's Playing Now list.  Then using remote control software (pcAnywhere) on the remote, I can start the 'Playing Now' list on the main computer, and then quickly start the same 'Playing Now' list from the remote.  Of course, if you pause or stop, you have to go through the resynchronization process again.

Is there a better way of accomplishing this?

Maybe.  Zones can be synched, but it isn't perfect.  Try searching for user Mastiff's posts.  He's everywhere here when people post about zones.

Checked out Mastiff's web site, but if I'm not mistaken the 'Zone' feature involves a second sound card in your main PC, correct?
