I am trying to play an WMA stream in MC 11 (11.0.266) (saved as an ASX file) and it's supposed to be a 64kbps WMA stream.   When I open the ASX file in MC 11, it shows it is 32kbps.  The same ASX file opens up in WMP 10 at 65kpbs.

The sound quality is poorer in Media Center.  Any ideas why it doesn't stream the higher bandwidth version?

Also, I am not able to double-click the ASX file from Explorer (or open from IE).  MC 11 does nothing.  I had to save the ASX file to disk, then use File->Open in MC 11 to get it to play at all.

That ASX file contains links to two different quality streams:

- "mms:/64.62.253.83/mfoster" streams WMA 64 kbps

- "http://sc3.audiorealm.com:10210" streams MP3 32 kbps. Actually, this is an mp3PRO stream and it sounds better if an mp3PRO capable player is used.

I tried several players. WMP10 was the only one that could play the WMA content. All other players selected the MP3/mp3PRO stream. I don't know why.

Thanks for the reply...anyone else have an idea why MC won't play the 64 kbps stream?
