Show Stopper Bugs?
« on: May 16, 2005, 06:49:44 pm »

Last call for any Big Bad Bugs.  Not the annoying thing you don't like about how Library Browser or Split Views work, but the One Remaining Serious Problem that should prevent MC11.0.269 from being launched.

Here's another thread on where we're at:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=27698.0

But please use this one to lay down your evidence for the problem that will bring tears to our teams eyes....

We're looking for outcries of outrage only, please.  (Remember that, once we've launched MC11, we're free to consider features again.)

And thanks for your contributions here.

That seems to be a good deal :)

for me i think the most serious bug is the one related to the handheld, the last bug i posted in build 269.

I really tried my best to come up with some outrage.  Just a little outrage... I guess I just don't have it in me...

It's worse than that, she's finished, Jim!

very slow when tabbing between  fields

Even if I make a simple edit to an Artist name such as changing letter case (A to a) it takes 10-17 seconds (i did count) after i hit tab before i'm allowed to do anything in MC11.
Slow response when using the auto add track #
slow response when renaming properties or renaming files.  this was not an issue for me in v10

Just now i had a odd crash when trying to drag and drop folders in MC within the my computer tree.  It moved the files correctly, database was kept in tact, but then it crashed.  When i restarted MC I first noticed a couple fields in my custom view were gone, then when i opened my media library all but one of my music folders were gone. I have something over 40k mp3's, all were gone from MC except 10k or so.
lucky for me I backed up my library this afternoon, because that saved quite a bit of time reimporting and setting up custom views again.

i apologize if eithe of my problems are unclear...i'm happy to explain again if you requested.

thanks!

Thank you for adding the split screen function in this version.  this was a request of mine last year...as expected its saved me loads of time.

1) In a mulitple zone setup where each zone has it's own sound card, the Volume Slider in one zone affects both zones. I have not tried it in other skins, but this happens with Z for sure.

2) Same multiple zone setup, initiating a Play Now of a tune in one zone causes a skip in the playback of the other zone. Never ever happened in v10. I was DJing with v11 on Saturday when this kept happening. I need a smilie for guy with egg on his face.

Cheers,
Jeff

I've got one  :-X perhaps...

The Dialog box “Please Wait“ which appears e.g. when clicking on “Drives & Devices” or dragging files into MC very often is displayed in full screen (not just maximised). It’s a long time bug, it’s with MC since 9.1 I think. I first thought it could be my Win-System, but two month ago I had to reinstall completely and the bug stayed with me. At the beginning it only happend a few times, but it happend more and more. I cannot remember, if I ever have seen a normal (small) "please wait"-Window in MC 11 since it changed to beta...

Sometimes the box starts at full screen and goes to normal (small) window size directly after the appearance, but sometimes it stays full screen until it disappears. I’m sorry, but I cannot reproduce when it is shown correctly (because that’s nearly never :-), when it’s shown full screen with going to normal state and when it just stays full screen. Seems to be randomised.

I've removed some posts that were duplicated in the 11.0.269 release thread.  We may take a look at them, but we won't hold release for them.

When burning CD's using MC my iRiver imp-550 won't read them. This may be due to MC's lack of finalizing CD's. Does Mc burn multisession by default?

Other wise, I think you are good to go.

Can we have better ipod photo and photo in general support once you have released? Pretty please :)
