Mass audio conversion
« on: June 25, 2005, 01:31:12 pm »

I think JRiver MC11 can do this, but how can it be done.

I've bought a BT LinkTheater, and it works with JRiver, but I am also trying out other UPnP servers.  It seems some (TwonkyVision) crash on certain types of WMA files.  NOTE: JRiver can handle thiem, as can others, but TwonkyV can't.

Can I make MC do the following:

1. Scan for all WMA files at a given bitrate(X)
2. RE-Transcode those files into WMA bitrate (X) but the trip around WMA-other-WMA seems to clean up problems.

In the UPnP options (under plug-ins in the tree on the left), you can tell MC to convert if necessary.

Not quite what I'm looking for, I want to actually, conver tthe files on disk to clean up any "odd" WMA.  But I need to find the files first rather than converting 6000 of them.

How about using a smartlist?

[File Type]=[wma] [Bitrate]=>192

create a view scheme with the following standard fields, "File Type", "Compression" and "Bitrate"

it should be enough to figure out which files are which and then you can convert the ones you want.  it's also generic enough to be useful for other purposes as well.
