Create new playlist from MP3 player

My daughter has not been using the sync feature but transferring files one by one to her RCA Lyra due to issues with earlier releases of MC11. Now that things are working much better I was trying to show her how to use the sync feature but she does not want to have to build a playlist of what is on her Lyra now.
Is there a way to create a playlist from the Lyra?

It depends on how the Lyra is presenting itself to MC. Try right clicking on the Lyra in the tree and see if there is an option to create a playlist. If not, try right clicking on the files on the Lyra as presented by MC and see if there is an option for this.

If not, have her create a playlist in MC and populate it. Then sync. The files that are on the Lyra will not be resent and the playlist will be automatically created.

The Lyra just shows up as a drive under drives and devices. There is no right click option to create a playlist. Thats what I was hoping to find. I had told her she may need to create a playlist manually to get started but told her I would ask the experts.
She was hoping to not have to key in the playlist but I guess she'll just have to get busy.

Can you give me the exact name of her Lyra as it appears in the MC tree? If I have that, I can enable m3u playlists for it. Also, let me know if the m3u files must be in a particular directory (they do for some Lyras). Then, have her create the playlist in MC. This should be a really easy process with all the options we have and then she can sync and have the list correctly created on the Lyra.

Sorry about the delays in responding. Our holiday was Friday up here.

I'm not sure if I explained things correctly.

The Lyra does appear to support playlists. If I create the playlist in MC and then sync it to the Lyra the m3u file is created on the Lyra. The problem is that she has 80 song currently on her Lyra but they were added by drag and drop not playlist synching so no m3u file exists. If I create a playlist and try and sync, an m3u file is craeted but only with the 10 songs in the playlist in MC. The 80 songs currently on the Lyra do not get added to the playlist. I guess what I'm looking for is to somehow have the 80 songs added to the playlist file without having to manually create the playlist.

Does that make sense.
