Question about CD-Text
« on: October 02, 2002, 03:44:35 pm »

is there any way to burn a CD without MJ writing the CD text Artist field as Various. I want to burn a cd that writes the individual track artists and track names? I know i could go in a rename all of the track name fields to include the artist name and then burn, but that is time consuming. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what you mean exactly.
I think you'll have to explain it slightly better if you want to get a reply :)

ok, when i go to burn a CD and go to options and click on cd-text, it gives me a field for artist and title, if i have mixed artists on the CD, it enters "Various" for the artist field. If i delete the Artist field and burn it like that, MJ still burns the CD text with Various as the artist which, in turn, when played in a CD text capable cd player, displays all of the track artists as Various and not the proper artist name. What i need to know is if there is a way to stop MJ from naming all of the artists as various, and make it write the artist field as the artist for the song.

Ahh, this sounds like bug to be fixed more than just advice on how to do it being needed :)

Sorry I couldn't help :) - I think Matt's your answer.

I have this same "Various" as artist problem when I burn CD's using MJ.

Instead of using the manually entered "CD Artist" or individual "Track Artist" from the ID3 tags, MJ always changes the artist to "Various" when the burn is made.

I'm fairly certain this is a bug in MJ and not a configuration problem as I am able to get exactly the CD-Text I want using the same burner and Nero.
