sounds like tremelo

When I play a CD or a file of a ripped CD, some songs sound like tremelo was added, especialy on piano and strings. I played around with different settings in the DSP and playback options in MJ and even have change to analog playback but no change in the tremelo effect. Its driving me nuts even though in some songs it is barely detectable.
Could this be a  sound card issue?

are you connecting the soundcard to a DAC?

if so it may be a jitter/clocking issue
