Import Media - Can't Limit Its Search
« on: October 21, 2005, 07:23:42 am »

In MC11 when I want to add a newly ripped collection of tunes to MC11 I go to Tools > Import Media >  I untick any boxes in the Seach field, and then Select Add Folder and highlight the folder that I want to add the tunes from. However, MC goes ahead and searches the entire upper folder for tunes, which means it searches through 14,000 or so files, instead of just the folder with 12 tracks in it. MC10 had no problem in this regard, but there has been some changes in the Import Media area. What am I doing wrong here?

You could try right-click import in Windows Explorer. (check this first: Options > General > Shell Options > Enable shell integration)

It works also in MC Tree > Drives & Devices.

I use it almost exclusively.

I tried the import options and I think you need to uncheck the "Fix and remove broken links" and "Update library for external changes" checkboxes in the Import Media > Advanced dialog.

After that it should work better when importing single folders.

I think you may have found the cute fix here, thank you.
