Playlist size

Is there any easy to see the exact size of a playlist?

I'm trying to gather enough songs to fill 2x 700Mb CDs, the status bar says 1.4 gigs but still says that whether I remove or add a few tracks.

I've looked around and tried help but can't find anything.

MC does not have that kind of display. It would be a good idea to show a few details of the selected files in the File Type Info window. Currently it is available only for single selections.

Since you must split the list anyway you could make two 700 MB playlists. You would see MBs instead of GBs.

Select files in palying now and look at the total in the status bar. Shows total time and file size.

use CTRL to select/deselect single files. SHIFT to select many at once. Just like in windows explorer.

Mine shows now: 41744 files (317.2 GB - 124.5 days)

The File Type Info window could show e.g:

Multiple files selected
41.744 files (35.558 audio, 5.877 image, 310 video and 347 document files)
Total size: 317.2 GB (324,812.8 MB / 332,608,307.2 KB)
Average bitrate: 215.15 kbps (audio only)
Total time: 124 days 12 hours 5 minutes 36 seconds

My file type info says: 'only available for single selection'.

Is this something that's been introduced lately?

As far as ctr shift etc goes, it's the same as removing or adding. The status bar says 1.4 gigs, you remove/ deselect three files, it still says 1.4 gigs.

Anyway, as suggested, cutting the playlist in two gave accurate enough figures.
