Handheld Question 2
« on: February 03, 2006, 03:46:19 pm »

Hi,

I have just been playing with the handheld functions of 11.1 for the first time.

I want to do the following...

On connect of my handhelds (I actually have two handhelds - iRiver iHP-140 and a SonyEricsson W800i), they both appear as USB mass storage devices in windows. I have MC seeing them and manually pushing a playlist of music to them. What I would like is for MC on each time I connect the device, to delete the current music off the device and add a completely new set of music onto the device. All my music is ogg, so for the W800 it has to transcode as well (yuk).

I prefer to listen to complete albums, rather than dipping in on a single song. I can't seem to get a smart playlist to be setup which changes its contents (based on the criteria - 35GB, random, audio only, complete albums) each time I view it.

ideas?

Thanks

Rich

That's a "sync" in our terminology.  It can be a smartlist.

Hi Jim,

hehehe

ok, I have the syncing working, what I don't have is the smartlist auto-changing each time I connect the player. Each time I look at the playlist it shows the same contents, not changing the contents of my player from a different sample of my music collection. (I do have more than 512MB of music  ;) )

I've read the manual, but I must be thick today!

Thanks
