MC11.1 crash using Record Sound
« on: February 09, 2006, 10:40:39 am »

MC11.1.113
I've had this problem for a while but I've done some testing to isolate it.

Using the Record Sound option, MC crashes shortly after clicking Stop.
It works fine if Rip And Encode Simultaneously is checked.
It always crashes if Rip And Encode Simultaneously is not checked.

So for Uncompressed Wav encoding it's always fine, presumably because no encoding is necessary.

For MP3, you need to check Rip And Encode Simultaneously.

But for Ogg Vorbis it never works because when you check Rip And Encode Simultaneously, click OK, then click Options again it's unchecked.  ?

This should be fixed in the next build. Please let us know if you're still having problems.

19. Fixed: Sound recorder crashed at end or recording if simultaneous encoding was not selected.
Hi John
I'm totally impressed with the speed you guys are fixing things.  :)
Works fine with MP3 now.

There is another issue though, which perhaps I didn't make clear enough.
In Record Sound Options, I choose Ogg Vorbis and select Rip And Encode Simultaneously and click OK. Then when I  select options again, Rip And Encode Simultaneously is unchecked. At least it doesn't crash anymore, but the option is always unavailable.

Thanks
