MC 11.1: No Text in Mini-me

On a couple of development machines, we've seen the system go into a funk and not draw any text in Mini View. 

Basic OS-level text functions start to fail.  Restarting MC makes no difference.  Rebooting fixes the problem.

It feels like an OS problem. 

Has anyone else seen this with MC 11.1?  Thanks.

I have just downloaded and installed 11.1.124 and note that none of the mini views display text ie. song being played or the playlist. However the vizualisations are displayed.
