Restore Limit Raised to 10/year
« on: September 23, 2002, 12:50:27 pm »

We've raised the number of restores you can do for any MJ license to ten per year.

We've also reset everyone's restore count to zero.  You're starting over now, in other words.  You can do ten restores in the next 12 months.  Each time you restore, the install key can be saved and used for 14 days.

Why?  Because we're listening and trying to accomodate your needs.

This is why MJ is the best. Not only because of the program itself, it's the people behind it too.

This is what makes great software. Thanks Jim.

Thanks Jim and the rest of the team! You should really be credited for listening to your users! This is really amazing how you respond to make your users feel welcome. Applause!

A question about the licensing thingy. When I registered, I got my key and everything was fine as 'snus' (I don't know the english word for it, but it doesn't matter, it's just an expression).
Lately I've been more and more curious on the MJ9 development and wanted to try it out at work (messing with my collection at home? No way :)). But the trial time has expired at work so I can't really dig into MJ9 there.

So, what should I do? Make a restore and use that key at work or what? I'm a bit confused about the restore system, perhaps because I'm lazy and don't read about certain stuff until I need to :)

Anyway, thanks again, I've spent more hours fiddling with my mp3's in MJ8 than working on my own projects at home these days :)

Lazyness isn't a bad thing. It's just a bad word for innovative, creative and efficient :)

Ok, I'll keep reading the faq...

Don't forget to change the following:

Q: I tried to restore several times, and the last time it failed.
A: You have six free restores per year. After that, you need to purchase another registration code.

A+ service from an A+ bunch of developers!

I've only got one question...what are the restores used for? Solely to reinstall the software? Do folks really need to reinstall MJ six to ten (or more) times a year? Why? Is it due to the fabled "stability" of Windows?

Best,
Brad

Jim, you and your team's involvement in this product is nothing short of inspirational.

I'm sure that there'll still be issues but I love the way you listen to your customers (and the way that John Gateley responds to postings on this board, its like IM'ing with him!)

Great work guys!

Is This An Incentive For Crashing Our Systems?

I Know i want to crash mine 10 or more times in a year.

10x14 = 140 Days I can force a harddrive crash (i will just slam it on the ground a few times) and still Get MJ to State "Registed"

Party Time...
