XP Icons: Updated for 11.1 - Podcasts
« on: December 13, 2005, 06:14:34 pm »

These are the same XP icons I compiled for MC a few months ago.

This new version includes a new icon for Podcasts and an update for the Services & Plugins icon to display properly.

Also included are a few minor optimizations involving icon position and such.

I'm looking into making a couple of new icons for Playlists and Smartlists. Something that would be a bit more uniform between the 16x16 icons that are used for the tree/toolbar/lists and the 32x32 icons that are used for the Action Window.

As it stands, each section has its own icon representing playlists and smartlists. This seems a little unecessary. So im taking suggestions as to which icon would be better. The 16x16 version, or the 32x32 version.

I've also been neglecting the Playing Now icon used in the Action Window. It still uses the original icon from the default MC art. Suggestions there are needed as well.

Comments are appreciated.

Nice icons!
MediaModes.png is all black, though.

I like the smaller playlist icon better, but I think the larger icons are more like the rest of the icons.
Actually, the blue note (used for the music-view) on a piece of paper might be nice.

On the playing now icon in the action window: Why not use the the green play triangle used in the tree?

Also, the current Services and plugins icon is a piece of paper. There might be a more appropriate icon.

Again, thanks!

Strange about the Services & Plugins icon. Thats one of the ones that I fixed. I'll take a look at it again, but its showing up correct in my MC. Perhaps they changed the icons again in the latest build of MC.

As for the Medio mode, I may have accidentally packaged in my personal Media Mode file. I actually hade a blank PNG file for my Media Mode image. It makes the Media Mode buttons not even show up in MC. I did that because I never use the Media Mode buttons and thought they looked much better not there. I have the XP version and will repackage it and upload it soon.

It may be a few days, however, because I am at a location that only has Dial-Up and I will be here for the next week or so.

Hm, I installed build 82 and "services and plugins" shows the corrects icon now. Strange...

OK, so school has kind of sidetracked my project. I'll probably get to it over spring break or later.

It is sufficient in it's current incarnation for the time being.

I could probably knock it out in an hour or two if I knew %100 what I wanted to do with the Playlist and Playing Now ideas I was toying with before.
