Playing Faster?
« on: July 09, 2006, 11:34:45 am »

Can MC play audio files at a faster rate?  I really like to listen to podcasts at a higher rate so I can get through them since I listen to so many and would like to be able to play these files at 1.4x, 1.6x, 1.8x, 2.0x, or higher.  Thanks!

I really don't mean any offence, but I couldn't help smiling when I read that.

Relax, slow down a little, if you're not careful, you'll wind up with an ulcer!!

(I don't think MC can natively speed up audio playback, no.)

In the plugins section theres a tempo and pitch add on for the DSP Studio.
It was pretty good last time I tried it.

Here

Look under DSP Plugins

However I have to agree with Marko.  Take life a lil slower (Malibu style) ;)

It think the tempo adjustment skips samples when audio is speeded up. It doesn't sound very good with music, but might be usable with speech.

Thanks.  I should have looked a little bit but didn't even think about a plugin.  I was wondering if it was built in but this plugin works quite well.  Not quite as good as windows media player does higher speed playback because it does seem to drop some info, but it works nicely.  Thanks!
