I've been posting this as a bug, but seeing as it only occurs in one folder I'm thinking it might be something to do with just those files.

The folder contains about 3000 small (55kb) jpegs of font samples.
Whenever I look at these files in MC, I can scroll through the list for a few seconds and then MC seizes up. Tagging them also takes an impossible amount of time (hours and hours just to do 1300 files).

I notice that when I am viewing them in MC, files are created in that folder named like this: "~!~MCTEMP~!~ (1).jpg"
I wonder if that means anything?

Suggestions and ideas welcome.

Could you try copying the files across a few folders, and then keep working your way down until you find a smallish set that causes the problem. (or the exact file)

We'd love to see the file(s) in this case.

Thanks, I'll try this, but not till i get back to work next week. I'll report what i find.
