YADB hebrew letters-mixed results
« on: September 08, 2002, 07:42:51 am »

I started test with 5 cds.

-Type infos[artist-album-songs]
-upload to Yadb data-well thinking i was,see below-
-Put the cds again in cdr
-play it
-rip to APE
    to mp3'on the fly'

-convert from APE to mp3 and wma.
-clear library and import songs

Everything fine,no mess with the tags, they stay as the original typing.

Did not test burn cause this friends do not have a cdw.

But,after deleting infos from the tree and 'cdplayer.ini',i do not get the infos back when putting the cd in the cdr.

Because I CANNOT upload any cd with hebrew letters.
I get the 'contacting or connecting' pop-up window, but not the second one 'info uploaded 'or something like it.

I just get the first pop-up window for a very short time and that's all.

Asked for typing help and tested with 25 cds, with the same result.

Uploading latin letters infos for english cds was ok.

If i change hebrew letters to latin,i can upload the cd infos
[sorry there is some 'vfder  huyt jhuyt bcdrew' infos in Yadb data now...]

I still run a english Windows, but if you tell me what you would like me to test after this first try,i will be able to do it this coming week on the same computer.
And will have more time than this time.

There is many hebrew settings in Windows:
hebrew[DOS]
     [ ISO-logical]
     [ISO-visual]
     [Windows]

I just remember that FreeDB had some problems with it for english. But do not know the setting who was on the computer.

I did not try to upload with cddb or another jukebox, was to much fun, food, drinks outside when i found the upload problem the day after the first test...

I send you an email with password this evening. As soon you confirm it,i will start to work on the emails you sent me

Hi Zevele,

Thanks for the info - it is what I suspected (though it should report that it was unable to upload the info better), I'll fix it soon.

You should have your password now.

Thank again,
