Unable to aquire license and MJ exit
« on: September 08, 2002, 07:24:06 am »

I have installed XP SP1, and the beta version of windows media player 9.0.

Since then, music jukebox says "unable to aquire license" when selecting a track. I uninstalled windows media player and problem remains.

Even more annoying, media jukebox now exits after a couple of tracks are played.

I have tried re-installing the product but problem seems to remain

Any suggestions to get back to a fully working MJ !

I suppose you are trying to play WMA files that are licensed.

It's possible that MJ 9 may not do this yet.

You can delete your jmd files (see the first message in the thread announcing the build) and reinstall 8.0.

I have tried deleting the complete j-river directory (which would include the jmd files ) and reinstalling, however problem still remains. Is it likely that the installion of WMP would have "corrupted" the WMA files I have in my music directory ?.

I have noticed if I repeatedly select next track, after about 4-5 time MJ will exit with application error.

I have now installed the latest 8.x version.
