DSP equalizer and my troubles with it
« on: October 21, 2006, 12:06:20 pm »

I have one main problem DSP equalization

For music I turn it off, but for audiobooks/podcasts, I'm forever having to change the settings (mainly boosting the high frequencies and lowering the bass for voice files)

What would be great is a way to save the DSP setting into the file, so the next time I play the file the settings are restored for that file

Being able to make a default setting for each genre would help also
A 'Save DSP settings for this genre' context item maybe?

This has been addressed by the brilliant scthom with his plugin "EQdb".  If you follow the third party plugins links to his site, you'll find the plugin for version 11.x.

The drill with this is to create a new field, "EQ", which when you manipulate the native EQ the plugin will save off a 11-digit alphanumeric bit of spanglish.  Next time you click on the track, you'll find the eq resumes its former setting.  This plugin will create as many custum eq settings as you have tracs, or you can copy and paste the field data to preset tracks.

I have installed the plugin as well as created the field "EQ" via Tools>Options>Library>Add and I do have a new field "EQ," but when I manipulate the native EQ I never see anything written into this field.  Does the plug-in write stuff there automatically?  How do I get it to save an EQ setting for this track only?

thanks.
