after ripping a cd i have used helium music manager to analyze for errors. i have also used mp3tester from bynasoft. i have also tried encspot. all these different analyzers give different results.  any way to know for sure who is right?
appreciate the help if any is given

now mp3utility says that the mp3's that helium said were bad are okay..actually in helium there is 4 levels i think..
excellent---good---poor---bad....
most of the ones in helium that tested good or poor...tested fine with mp3utility...
with encspot there are 3 ...green - good...yellow medium...and most of the ones that tested excellent in helium tested yellow in encspot

why all the discrepensies? (sorry if i spelled that wrong)

well i always found helium as better, and mp3utility would find some that helium would not find.

some of the other ones i tested before and they guess the file is bad only because the file maybe a low Bit rate and maybe some other factors.

just because mp3tester states it is bad does not really mean it is so. but it also depends on what options you have selected.

I am guessing you downloaded these mp3's, if you rip your own music they would not normally need to be tested unless your had drive has errors.

if you play the media file and it does not have skips or pops (Sync Errors) in it, i would consider it it good.

you can also take Audio identifier. Itīs a extended version of Mr. Questionman and also supports several other formats. You also have this Good, Bad rating.
