crash on dvd insert
« on: February 08, 2007, 09:27:32 pm »

If i insert a DVD while MC is active, I use media server so that is always, MC crashes.
In file associations I have MC only set for audio type files.
I have autoplay turned off on the drive.
If media center is off and I insert a DVD nothing happens as expected.
If I click on the drive my selected application starts up and everything is ok.
If MC is started after the DVD is inserted nothing happens.
While MC is active,
If I click on the drive in my computer my selected application starts up.
If I eject the DVD and insert it again MC attempts to play it and crashes. I know it attempts to play it because I hear a blast of sound and my display gets resized before the crash. MC has been told to do nothing when I insert any kind of disk whenever I have seen the popup window.
I am currently running 12.0.164.

I have a similar issue with latest build.
Upon selecting any DVD within MC everything freezes.
I will occasionally get an error code of 200.
I also will experience on occasion, when attempting to load/play, "error #30"-- I also get that when trying to import at times.

I was having dvd playback problems too. Going to "DVD playback" in the options and changing from "Video Mixing Renderer 9" to "Legacy Video Renderer" solved the problems.

Tried that, and I get Error 200 still and telling me I may not have proper codex... though I am not sure what happened to it.
I installed codex pack again, then  and now I got an error "key exchange for DVD copy protection failed".
I uninstalled all codex's and installed a package, yet again... now it works!
