Reset selection is missing for Pane
« on: March 13, 2007, 11:56:36 am »

I'am wondering where the "Reset selection" has disappeared? It was quite useful ... otherwise it's complicated to reset each pane by selecting "All". Wouldn't it be possible to add another button "Reset" near the "Back", "Forward" and "Refresh" buttons?
thx

Whenever I select an item (other than "all") in any of the panes the "reset selection" option shows up next to the pane drop down.

Ok ... So I'am glad that MC didn't remove this feature. But fact is that my MC (Version 12.0.185) doesn't do it?

The "Reset selection" is in the context menu when I click on a pane - but only for the specific pane I click in. In previous versions there was the general "Reset selection". This is what I'am missing.
thx

It appears that the "universal" reset selection item/button that used to reside at the top of the main window has been removed.  I agree that this was a useful feature that increased the ease-of-use factor enough to make it worthwhile.  We can still select the "All" items from the panes, or "reset" each pane individually, but having the "universal" reset was a nice feature that I miss.

It doesnt exist with tabs since the view header contain the tabs themselves now.  It you go back to the standard view, it is still there.  Matt is looking for suggestions as to the best way to implement this in tabs.

Ah.  I don't use tabs so there you go.

It seems like simply putting a "Reset" button next to the "Refresh" button would work -- it would only effect the currently selected tab.

I'm really hoping we can have tabs inside of split views.
