Author Topic: Having two installs of MJ on different disks with different settings  (Read 724 times)

I have a laptop and an external hard drive.  I keep my "master" music collection of about 100GB of music on the hard disk, and a "travelling" collection of about 10GB on my laptop.  The 10GB on the laptop is always changing as I swap out albums to match my mood.

I'd like to have two installs of MJ, one on each disk, each pointing to the local set of music files.

However, when I installed MJ a second time, it picked up the settings from the first install.

Is there a way to have two separate instances of MJ using two separate settings files?

Thanks,
Mike!

I don't fully understand what you're doing, but did you look at the Libraries under File in MJ?  This lets you manage two or more different MJ databases.

Doh.

I swear I thought I'd looked at every possible menu option to try and find a way to do this.

RTFM strikes again.

Thanks...
