Back, Forward, Refresh toolbar really necessary?
« on: April 10, 2007, 04:10:13 pm »

Hi

When using split view on my 720P projector, an awful lot of space is used on the toolbar mentioned in the subject.
Marked in red on the example picture below.

I can't seem to find any options to disable this. Is it just me?
Just a simple option of enabling or disabling it under Tree & View option would be great. Would this be hard to do?

Try using tabs instead of stacked splits.

Interesting. How exactly would I accomplish this?
Tried the help file and just a plain search through options, but I can't see a obvious solution here.

Any more thoughts regarding the "reset selection" problem when using tabs?

Nice! Thanks Marko. Never payed attention to the three options there.

I love the Columns view. That might work as a substitute for now, but I don't think It's as easy to anderstand and natrual as a Row view. The tabs on the other hand is also a nice option, but would confuse first time users.

Would still like the option to remove the mentioned "toolbar". I never ever use it. And I don't think many first timers notice it either.

WOW! I actually made the toolbar go away. I promise you; the toolbare totally dissapeared in Rows and Columns view. Not in Tabs View. I was playing with the Row, tab and column view. Mostly Row and Column. And 1-3 splits. It was amaizin!
I've tried the same thing over and over again, but are not able to reproduce it. Got sick of it aster 20 minutes.

If anyone else manages to do the same thing, please let me know!

yup. when you turn the tabs off, the toolbar takes extended leave until you navigate away from the current view, at which point, it returns.

I've seen a couple of other highly desirable, hard to replicate bugs during this beta cycle, namely, the action window actually disappeared on me once, and for a very short time, I was able to make the tag window occupy the entire tree pane!!
both are fixed now.

That's it! Super sweet! That's was not hard to reproduce at all... Just go trom tabs to columns or rows view. Thought I tried that a number of times...
Pretty please make this "bug" a option! At least don't correct it! Should never have mentioned it in the first place :)

Now I can't get it to work any more. I did it a number of times just a few days ago. There have to be more variables in this equation...
Currently testing on a never version... You guys didn't actually go against my wishes and corrected this "bug" somewhere between build 198 to 207 did you? I would never recover form such a blow.
