Copying from FLAC to mp3 volume corrected
« on: April 20, 2007, 11:13:15 am »

My library is in FLAC format.  Approx 10,000 songs.

My Wife uses a subset of my library (approx 500 songs) in her iTunes setup on the same computer.  She's used to iTunes GUI, sync protocols, etc. so I'd like for her to continue to use iTunes.  She's not all that picky about audio quality, with most of her music at 128k mp3

What I've done in the past is create a playlist in JRM that's got her preferred music.  I then used the JRM conversion routine to convert those files to mp3 files at 128k in a folder for her, and then linked her iTunes to that folder.

My problem is that I can't seem to enable replay gain, so on her iPod the music swings pretty widely in volume across songs.

Is there some easy way to move 500 songs in FLAC format in a JRM playlist to mp3 fully tagged and replay gain adjusted format in a specified destination folder?

Thanks.

If you use MC, it's easy.  It'll do conversion, conversion caching, replay gain, etc.  If you configure auto-sync, MC will automatically sync her playlists whenever she plugs in the iPod.
