FLAC import problems

I just installed the latest FLAC encoder plug-in.
However, when I go to import files, there is no FLAC option in the list of file types.
How then would I create a library from my thousands of FLAC files?

The encoder is for creating flacs from rips or conversions.  You need the decoder plugin, which is for imports, playing, and tagging.
