Playback AVI fails

For some reason I cannot play AVI-files.
WMV and other files: no problem. AVI-files: nothing ...

How to solve this?

Hello, tks.
I discovered I had to install XviD ... Need to use GSpot to find out.
Some time back MC played those .avi-files... ?  all of a sudden it doesn't.
Anyway, matter now solved, just must think of it in case of a restore of an
Windows image or a full fresh install :-)
