Some question from an almost new customer
« on: November 09, 2007, 11:17:48 am »

I try Media Center since 2 weeks and I love it, :) I have some questions :

- My favorite view is "Pane/Album thumbnails". Is it possible to custom the effect of the "double-click" on the cover to see and edit album tracks ?
- I now I can locate and edit tracks with the locate feature but it is not the album tracks but the folder tracks. That can be really different.
- In the same topics it seems impossible to edit in one way more than one track, exemple : often I have to edit the same genre, date, thumbnail... for more than one track in an album.
- In the main screen it is not possible to close the left panel with the splitter. Minor : It is not possible to put this same panel on the right part of the screen

- In the same topics it seems impossible to edit in one way more than one track, exemple : often I have to edit the same genre, date, thumbnail... for more than one track in an album.
This is very easy to do, lets say you want to set Genre for all tracks of the album.
- single click the genre, entry you want to edit.
- Select all tracks with mouse that you want to edit.
- Press F2, change genre and then hit return

Otherwise you can do this by the action window. press alt+enter to make it appear.
- select tracks
- go to action window and select the field you want to mass edit.
- make entry and hit return.

All selected tracks will now have same genre.

In this way you can mass edit many fields in the column view.

If you make a mistake then ctrl+z to undo.

- In the main screen it is not possible to close the left panel with the splitter. Minor : It is not possible to put this same panel on the right part of the screen
dbl click the splitter (look for a < or > in the middle) it will slide to the left, do the same to get it back again.

Its not possible to rearrange the tree + action window, they are fixed to the left :)

Good shot but not perfect  :)
Now I know how to change more than one track in one way  :) :)
Now I know how to close the splitter  ;D
But when I select "Pane/Album thumbnails" I can't see/edit album tracks instead of all directoy tracks. And in the action window I can't see all informations tracks... may be I miss something.

Anyway I am sure it's a nice software, buy it will be my next post it.

I'm not sure if i understand what you mean but you can also show thumbnails in the upper half and file view in the lower list like this

or even this

erm, hit_ny, dude, that's just a mock-up Alex threw together...
The concept is out of the top drawer, but sadly, JRiver did not (or could not?) make it a reality, which is a crying shame if you ask me.

i placed listview album thumbs and detail view (and thumbs) in my bottom toolbar, so that switching between album view and list view is very easy.

ps: i love that mockup from alex.

Gasp ! I understand now I miss something enormous...
On my screen I can't see the tracks panel like your screenshot... of course ! ... I don't know how to activate it. May be I change a dummy parameter during the first hours I try the software.
But I can't find it  8).
Where are these options :
"album thumbnails on top and file details on bottom"
"Always Show Files"

When I right click in the "pane" I can't see the line "Options"

With the new image tooltips, I would rather see album thumbnails have a popup of tracks rather than the right hand list.  That would out of this world.
