Zen Vision M syncing but duplicating some files

When I sync, manually or automatically, I end up with another copy of the music on my player each time I sync. I thought syncing should make my player library match my PC library. Its acting more like a transfer or copy vs. a true sync. It does not create duplicate albums (or even every file), only duplicate copies of some music.  Please help
