Congrats on New Release and first issues
« on: November 13, 2007, 02:17:49 am »

Well Done Team !

It's good to see this targeted product for us music fans - especially for free.  Thank You.

My Situation.

I have been a flac user (reason I like lossless as I can use it in my high quality stereo systems as well as lower quality ones)

However the recent purchase of an iPod Classic (I know) with 160 Gb of storage requires that I change to m4a lossless (ALAC) to continue with lossless.  (Aside - will this size of storage becoming available tempt more people to go lossless?)

I have successfully converted a few flacs to alac with dbPowerAmp. These rest of the library should be no problem.

I can playback these files in MJ12 (I have qt and itunes installed) with the no internal volume control restriction.

I can also playback flac having installed the decoder and encoder as would be done in MJ12.

I have two issues at the moment

1 - Whenever I try to change anything in options I get an error message telling me that

Video file location cannot be empty and flipping me to the File Location section of the options menu.

Does the fact I previously had a trial version of MC12 installed matter here? :)

2 - Does MJ12 support directshow so that I can try to geet full support of alac via CCCP (or similar)?

Regards and thanks

Lossless Dave

That was fixed in yesterday's build.  Please get if from the top of this board.

I haven't been around the forums for a while and just found out you guys released a free player!

EXCELLENT!  I can now preach the benefits of JRiver to all my friends and let them experience it for themselves.  Then they can upgrade to Media Center.

Great job, guys!

P.S.  Is it okay to give a plug for it on my blog (http://www.falalalala.com)?  I get a few million hits on the site each December....
