Syncing DVDs
« on: January 10, 2008, 05:59:53 pm »

I'm interested in knowing more about how MC handles DVDs and encoding the DVDs.  I experienced a taste of bliss when I took a video and dropped it onto a 3g Nano.  It essentially automatically took the movie and converted it.  When syncing the same DVDs from a playlist, it didn't work at all.  It gave an error.

I noticed a new field called "DVD Rip" that appeared when syncing the DVD from dragging it to the iPod.  I couldn't edit the field.  If I was able to edit it  then theoretically it would be easy to sync any part of the DVD!

I'm having difficulty holding back my cries because if what seems like a minor bug was fixed, it would be so incredibly beyond what I could have ever asked for!  Imagine the ability to sync any DVD that quickly!!!  I also noticed the time estimator was way off and started with ~10 minutes and gradually increased until it said 3.5 hours.  It then finished several minutes later.  It might have taken 2-3 hours or so.  The second time I got it to work no audio got copied over.  It would be nice if a playlist could be used to sync, too.  Any idea what is going on?  Is this ability intended and built in to MC?  I would greatly appreciate assistance!  You're almost there!  And with iPhone support, my portable video experience will be blissful as well!  I'm hoping for the best on the 14th at Macworld!
