Analyze audio not multi-threaded....?
« on: January 14, 2008, 10:04:14 am »

I've read that MC is "thoroughly multi-threaded" but when I run analyze audio with my new quad-core (3gHz Intel Kentsfield), I'm seeing similar performance to my AMD64 3gHz.

The paired cores are running at no more than 25-30%

I haven't tested conversions or encoding yet.

Analyze audio runs one file at a time.  This may be configurable someday.

I noticed that Resize image isn't multi-threaded either.

I assume ripping and encoding are supported for mt?
