dead options on drop down menu
« on: January 30, 2008, 07:10:49 pm »

When I click on the drop down menu, a number of links are shaded in light gray and are effectively useless--options, under tools, for example. As a result, a number of key functions are inoperative. Any advice?

Thanks

I worked from the top of the forum, down. As this was your first post, I wish I'd read it first.

If you cannot access MC's options, something is very wrong with your installation.
If the "Help > System Info" tool is working, please paste the results it gives you into your next post here.

Either way, the first thing you should be trying is to remove the reinstall Media Center.

Your RAM is certainly getting a good workout there, but apart from that, everything else would appear to be normal.
Did you try reinstalling MC?

Maybe the Part Mode feature is enabled. It disables some menu items, including Options.

Party mode was enabled--good call.

I have now disabled it an options do appear to work. I'll if this fixes other functions as well.

Thanks
