file downloads not working
« on: March 29, 2008, 07:39:24 pm »

Hi,
Just downloaded the latest version and it is I am getting a file download failed message when I try to rip a cd. If I reboot it will sometimes download the files for the first cd i try to rip. The next one I get an error message on. I know that it isn't the cd, my husband ripped them onto his computer without problem. I am using windows xp. Any ideas?

Does it say what file it's trying to download? Is it the mp3 encoder package?

It isn't able to download info from the database...song titles, artists album title etc. Every once in a while it does. It rips fine, even if I haven't managed to get the info from the db. Once it was able to do it all, data before, ripping and than artwork. The other time I was able to get the info from the db it didn't get the artwork. I know that the info is in the db because it works fine on my husband's computer. Oh, and thanks for helping!

Problem solved!
I had an old copy of Music match on my computer that seemed to be interfering with media center. I wasn't using it so I removed it and now media center is working fine!
Thanks for your efforts.
