Is there any chance of adding a key press which would rotate photos
like [ and ]?

no, there is nothing like this. but you could add it to the keyboard file.

add for instance
   <Entry Key="Ctrl;u" Command="31001" Param="0" TranslateFlags="8" />
for rotate left. the 8 is for using this only in fullscreen mode. i tried to use [ for rotating, but that did not work.
