U-Verse Media Share
« on: September 24, 2009, 08:57:27 pm »

I have AT&T U-verse as my TV provided (which I like very much on the whole).  They have just added a Media Share feature which allows you to play music and photos from your computer on any U-Verse set-top box in the house.  The official setup for this is to use Windows Media Player 11 to serve the content.  However, all my music and photos are on a NAS and Media Player/Windows does not allow the sharing of content not stored on the local computer.
So, my backup plan was to attempt to use JR Media Center's UPnP service to serve the content.  However, it doesn't work on automatic and I don't know what settings to use to mimic the Windows Media Player.  I am assuming it works through UPnP only because there have been reports of individuals being able to get TVersity to work with the U-Verse Media Share.
Does anyone have experience either getting Media Center to talk to U-Verse's Media Share or otherwise know how to make Media Center's server settings to be like Windows Media Player?

Thanks
