Mp3 encoder hangs??

Maybe it is just me, but....

Tried to do a 'Convert Format' but MJ keeps stalling when trying to convert from APE to MP3.

OGG seems to work OK though. Anyone else?

This is with .330.

Mike,
Try ripping a single track from a CD.  Just to see where the problem is.

You've had a lot of troubles lately.  Are you speaking in gentle tones to your computer?  A pat now and then?

Jim,

I promise, I'm not trying to kill MJ. Just that a convert format gave a bunch of Winoldap errors. I was just wondering if anyone else came across the same type of errors.

Downloading the latest right now. Maybe see what happens with this one.

Monkey's was doing just fine. MP3 was was just kind of doing nothing in this case???

Mike,
You're having unusual problems.  If I had to guess, I'd think bad memory or corrupt OS or .....?  Heat can have an effect.  Try popping the cover off.

Maybe it is Lame....

LAME caused a general protection fault
in module KRNL386.EXE at 0002:00000cea.

Well, it seems that MJ started to behave with a re-boot. Tried a convert of the OGG files to MP3 and it started without a hitch. Although, I would have rather converted from APE. Will try just for the heck of it.

The re-boot thing has been more common as of late. Maybe should have the installer tell users to re-boot just because. It sure doesn't seem to hurt when I do this.

I always seem to have better luck when I do.

BTW- For those that have an ear for something different. This 311 that I have been listening to as of late is really good. Kind of Raggae-Rap-Metal-Ska-Punk. Just...different.

If anyone else has this, what do you think?
