Close confirmation
« on: October 01, 2009, 02:52:03 pm »

One idea I got looking for useful keyboard short-cuts. When Ctrl-W is pressed there is confirmation window  saying "Would You like to close the program". Is it possible to have this window when clicking on the close button in top right corner?

This is one of the worst windows usability bugs that the close button is next to minimize/maximize button and it often leads to closing application instead of maximizing its window.

Sorry, but I think we'll stick with the Windows standard on this one.

Is there any standard of close confirmation window???  Even internet explore has one.

I said that the standard window close button is unfortunate and is generating erros.
I'm suggesting adding confirmation window when closing Media Center by clicking close button as it is when Ctrl-w is pressed.
It isn't funny when you close MC instead of maximizing its window when playing music on dance party.

im not opposing your idea, but since it happened enough times to me with several programs i trained myself to use a double click on the toolbar, for maximizing and making it smaller again it works so much easier.

just to add, internet explorer only asks for a close confirmation when using several tabs, isnt it?
