Media Center saves two playback settings: a default and an alternate setting. Select this and set the options for the alternate setting. To use the alternate audio settings, hold down the ALT key while double clicking on a file or clicking on the Player buttons.

Unfortunately it doesn't work for me. If I click on button or track while holding Alt key restores MC window size instead of switching tracks. When MC window isn't maximized it does nothing. I'm using polish localized version of Windows XP Professional.

It doesn't work for me either (never has since it was first an option nor does the setting "Use gapless for sequential album tracks"

The wiki is out of date.

To use alternate settings, you use:
Player > Playback Options > Use Alternate Settings

Alt+M is the keyboard shortcut.

But still there is no visual indicator, so it is rather useless

You can use the field [Alternate Settings] in an expression in the player display area.  Or you can look at the checkmark in the menu.
