Possible slowdown/hangs while tagging?
« on: August 23, 2009, 04:15:31 pm »

Has anyone noticed a short hang when tagging id3 metadata?  Media Center seems to lock up momentarily as I move to another file while editing data, and it's a little annoying when I'm editing a bunch of songs all at once.  This is a new behavior for me, but I can't exactly pinpoint its source.  I recently upgraded to MC14 and Windows 7 at the same time, and that's when it started.  If anyone knows a solution, I'd love to hear about it!

A virus checker could do that.  So could writing to a slow drive (network, USB...).

No, I have no virus scanner running, not even Windows Defender.  The music files are not on a network resource, they are all located on the main hard drive on the computer.  These same files worked fine in windows xp with media center 13.  Since upgrading, I've found the tagging to be slower.  Can anyone confirm if this is a Media Center 14 issue or a Windows 7 issue?
