Radio problem on uPnP
« on: October 03, 2009, 02:56:11 am »

Hi,

I'm new to this forum but I would be super happy if anyone could give me any help with my problem.

I installed my old netgear MP101 a week ago and decided to give it a try again and I was surprised to find it could stream audio files flawlessly with MC 14, which is better than ever before. But I have problem streaming radio and I've now tried everything I can think of.

My setup is an MP101 with the 1.4.7 firmware on a wired network with a netgear RP614v4 router. I'm running windows 7 with all firewalls disabled.
I can play the mp3 radio streams perfectly on the computer but when I try to play them from the MP101 the player just hangs showing the station name and the 00.00 counter. I've set the uPnP server to mode to MP101 and I've tried both transcoding and not.

The server log prints:
10/03/09 09:46:18 - Received GENA message
10/03/09 09:46:18 - GENA Renew message
10/03/09 09:46:23 - Browse BrowseDirectChildren 22(Audio\Albums\Radio)
10/03/09 09:46:23 - GET request of /Music/205.mp3
10/03/09 09:46:23 - Handling MediaServerDevice request: /Music/205.mp3
10/03/09 09:46:24 - Sharing (with conversion): http://kexp-mp3-1.cac.washington.edu:8000/
10/03/09 09:46:24 - Received request for file: http://kexp-mp3-1.cac.washington.edu:8000/

And the debug log prints:

[4816] 29388529: 3112: Reader: CMusicTranscoderReader::CMusicTranscoderReader: Using MP3 Encoder encoder

I'm sorry, but I don't think radio is supported in our UPnP server.

Is that a service that has been removed then?

I browsed the forum and found people who have managed to play internet radio streams in mp3 format to the MP101 through earlier versions MC

thanks :)

ok, I've managed to play radio on the MP101 with other media server programs but then the streaming gets stuck after a few seconds as well as it does when playing mp3. MC works flawlessly when playing stored music in all formats.
