Can I tag music files like MusicMatch?
« on: July 05, 2002, 04:12:42 am »

I recently purchased Media Jukebox and am looking for a way to tag music files much like MusicMatch.  The MM Jukebox will allow you to search on song and choose appropriate tagging information (in case of multiple returns)

I have looked into the CDDB using 'get Information from CDDB' when I select properties of a song and it always returns:

" Action: Accessing file CDDB information. "
" CDDB Error: No match found. "

Any help is appreciated..

Reinstall MJ normaly that helps and fixes the problem.

there is a registry key you can delete then reinstall MJ if this does not work.

it is not MJ it is the CDDB dll that causes this problem.

I tried uninstalling MJ then reinstalling, the this didn't seem to have any effect.

What Registery entry can I remove... Can I just reinstall the CDDB stuff by itself..

I am currently using MJ 8.0.318
I tried to delete the CDDB control registery entry prior to reinstall, hoping the reregisteration would fix it but no avail..

I also just tried (while search around MJ) to  create a CDDB registeration, also to no avail.. Did I need to do this?

there is also a few data files, that can be deleted that may help.

i have a complete list Gracnote Tech Support Told Me To Look For To Correct Some Of The Problems User Have With The Cddb Dll's

I am at work right now so soon as i get home and i will post it.

there may also be no data in CDDB's database for that CD, if not it will return no info. try other cd's and see if they work.

if they do you don't have a problem, you may need to submit that cd info to CDDB for them to have it next time you or others try to access that information.

I just Loaded Up And Looked At What Your Talking About.

This Is Normal, When Looking Up Files And CDDB Does Not Know The File.

Try To Make Sure Both The Title And The Artist Name Are Correct For The MP3 Make Sure The File Name Format Is "Artist - Song Name" And Try Again.

By The Way What Is The

Artist Name?

Song Name?

And What Is The FileName?

All Three Matter
