Fill properties from filename
« on: November 17, 2009, 10:16:47 am »

Okay, I've spent over two hours trying to figure out the right formula for the next thing and I just can't get the right one.

Say, I have Abba's album Arrival and the 5th song on that one is Waterloo.
This is the way it is in my Explorer: c:\mp3\artists\a-g\abba\arrival\05. Waterloo

How can I ask MC to fill the fields Name, Artist, Track number and Album in the right way?

Thanks for thinking with me!

This worked for me in a quick test:
Directories: [Artist]\[Album]
Filename: [Track #]. [Name]

Aha, I think I get it. So with the directories you can forget about the first few folders; actually one has to name the last few ones that carry the desired names.
Is that the trick?

I think so.

It works backwards from the end of the path, so the first part isn't normally important.
