Windows 7 & Media Player 15
« on: March 25, 2011, 11:06:46 am »

Is anyone having a CPU problem running any version of JRiver Media Center?
I'm not sure if MC is causing huge CPU spikes I keep getting. I know Windows Media Player 12 something or other messenger something pulls and sucks up my CPU usage. I disabled that, but I'm still getting hammered by something. Could it be MC? I know this may sound stupid, but I am using MC14 for my music files, and MC15 for my Videos & Movies. Could they be conflicting or offsetting each other in some way? And no, I do not run both at the same time.

I gave up and went back to tried and trusted XP. It seems that a lot of people are having the same CPU trouble. It doesn't seem to be the fault of any MC product. It just goes to show you that Microsoft should have done testing on some older machines too. Mine is a 1997 Dell XPS Second Gen. I love the old beast. I've never had a problem with it. I handles pretty much every thing I need it for.

So to anybody else having CPU issues with Windows 7, MC is not the cause.
