"Pop" or "Click" sound.
« on: January 29, 2010, 03:06:21 pm »

I have a Gateway computer with on-board High Definition sound card, with an IDT High Definition Codec up-to-date, and it sounds great with a competitor's media player (JetAudio).  I am CRAZY for the awesome sound I get from MC14, especially with the "shaping" I can get using the various DSP settings and plug ins;  EXCEPT there is an annoying and somewhat prominent "click" or "pop" all the way through any MP3 or Ogg or any other audio file type I try to play.  It is there even with CD-audio discs.  I am not that sophisticated such that I understand what things could be causing this/ what settings I might need to adjust, or better codecs, or whatever.  I am asking for some suggestions as to what to do.  It is making me very frustrated to hear these random bits of clicks and pops that seriously detract from my listening experience.  I would appreciate any help someone could offer. ?

Are you using Direct Sound, WAVE Out, WASAPI, or ASIO?  The best sound will be WASAPI or ASIO.
